源起于2000年前的古希腊奥林匹克运动会，既是人类奋斗与拼搏精神的象征，也是人类社会不畏艰险不断进步的体现。从第一届现代奥林匹克运动会至今，已举办了31届。在100多年的现代奥运会发展过程中，“更快、更高、更强（Citius, Altius, Fortius）”的奥运会宗旨，已然成为人类现代文明发展的指标与动力，而奥林匹克精神正如创办者顾拜旦所说：“奥运会最重要的不是胜利，而是参与。正如生活中最重要的事情不是成功，而是奋斗；最本质的事情不是征服，而是奋力拼搏”。100多年来，奥林匹克精神的影响力远远超出了体育的范畴，为现代世界的政治、经济、军事、文化、哲学和艺术注入了强大的精神资源与不竭活力。

为弘扬奥林匹克精神，2008年中国北京奥运会期间，中国文化艺术发展促进会联合有关机构创办了“奥林匹克美术大会”。该展会以“艺术·让奥林匹克更美”为主旨，将奥林匹克精神通过艺术的方式呈现出来。其价值观正如我们一直所倡导的那样：“致力于宣传奥林匹克精神，推广奥林匹克文化，助力中国文化走出去，推进东西方文化交流”。10多年来，奥林匹克美术大会分别在北京、伦敦、南京、里约热内卢举办了四届，展览作品超过了1600件，其题材丰富，形式多样，充分体现出世界大家庭的和谐团结以及“更快、更高、更强”的奥运会精神。

第32届日本东京夏季奥运会是奥运史上最为特殊的一届。本来应该在2020年举办的夏季奥运会，却因肆虐全球的新冠病毒疫情的冲击而延迟至2021年。在全球战疫情的背景下，本届奥林匹克运动会格外令人瞩目，因为它所体现的正是人类“奋力拼搏”的可贵精神。可以确信的是，东京奥运会的顺利举办，将成为人类战胜新冠病毒疫情的象征，将带给世界各国人民前行的勇气和动力，崇尚和平、团结、尊重的奥林匹克价值观，将再次成为指引人类共同走向未来的明灯。作为一衣带水的邻邦，中国在2020年3月就明确表示，支持日本主办奥运会的立场。这一态度，鲜明地体现出两国人民“山川异域，风月同天”的传统精神。

本届奥美大会以“面向东京2020”为主题，其意义在于，通过全球艺术家作品的集中呈现，准确地诠释人类战胜新冠疫情的坚定信念与乐观精神，全方位地表现出人类命运共同体意识。

此次美术大会以邀请的方式，特邀中国画、油画、版画、雕塑领域最优秀的艺术家参展。其中，中国的艺术家有黄永玉、孙其峰、喻继高、于志学、刘勃舒、潘公凯、范迪安、冯远、钱绍武、崔振宽、李宝林、陈家泠、贾浩义、谢志高、赵华胜、郭怡孮、杜滋龄、杨力舟、曹新林、闫振铎、郭北平、王迎春、龙瑞、闻立鹏、徐匡、阿鸽、盛杨、许钦松、何家英、赵卫、杨晓阳、周京新、张江洲、卢禹舜、吴为山、俞晓夫、杨飞云、闫平、庞茂琨、苏新平等。展览作品在风格语言上各擅胜场，个性鲜明，代表了当代中国美术创作的最高水平。

奥林匹克美术大会经历了10余年的发展，吸引了一大批国内外最优秀的艺术家。其创作视角涵盖了当代社会最广泛的领域，其创作风格体现了最多元化的取向。奥林匹克美术大会也由此成为国际性的展览品牌，在海内外产生了积极而深远的影响。

展览将通过中国文化艺术发展促进会官方网站奥美大会栏目向全世界发布，并结集出版。

本次展览得到中华人民共和国驻日本大使馆、东京奥运会和残奥会组织委员会、日中友好协会、日本二胡振兴协会的大力支持，由2020（东京）奥美大会组委会组织实施，所有作品均经过国内外知名艺术家、评论家组成的“2020（东京）奥美大会艺术委员会”评审，保证了作品的高水准和艺术性。

艺术的高贵之处在于，它总是在人类遭受困厄时闪烁出希望的光芒！对于正在抗击新冠疫情的世界人民而言，本届奥美大会所带来的正是温暖与希望！

The ancient Greek Olympic Games, which can be traced back to 2,000 years ago, not only symbolized human’s struggle and fighting spirit, but also manifested how the human society defied all odds and forged ahead ceaselessly. Ever since the first modern Olympics, 31 games have been held so far. In more than 100 years of development of the modern Olympics, the Olympic motto “Faster, Higher, Stronger” (Citius, Altius, Fortius) has already become an indicator and driving force of the modern development of human civilization. The Olympic spirit is just as what its founder Coubertin said, “The most important thing in the Olympic Games is not winning but participating; the essential thing in life is not conquering but fighting well.” For over 100 years, the influence of the Olympic spirit has far beyond sports, it injects powerful spiritual resources and infinite vitality into the politics, economy, military, culture, philosophy and art of the modern world.

To promote the Olympic spirit, the China Society for the Promotion of Cultural and Art Development (CSPCAD) joined forces with relevant organizations during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China and created the Olympic Fine Arts (OFA). Under the theme “Art makes the Olympics more beautiful,” the exhibition conveyed the Olympic spirit through art. Its values are just what we’ve been advocating: “Dedicated to promote the Olympic spirit, spread the Olympic culture, facilitate Chinese culture to go global, and promote cultural exchanges between East and West.” Over the past ten years, four OFA exhibitions were held in Beijing, London, Nanjing, and Rio de Janeiro. More than 1,600 works have been exhibited, the richness of their subjects and the variety of their forms fully demonstrated the harmony and unity of the global family and the Olympic spirit of “Faster, Higher, Stronger.”

The 32^nd Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics will be a special one in the Olympic history. This Summer Olympics was scheduled to be held in 2020, but was postponed to 2021 due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic which ravaged the world. Against the backdrop of the global war against the epidemic, this Olympics are particularly remarkable as being the exact embodiment of the invaluable human spirit of “fighting the good fight.” It should be clear that the success of the Tokyo Olympic Games will represent the human triumph over the epidemic, and will bring courage and motivation to all peoples of the world. And again, the Olympics values of peace, solidarity and respect will become the beacon that leads humans to our shared future. As a neighboring country, China clearly stated its support for Japan’s hosting the Olympics as early as in March 2020. This attitude distinctly showed the traditional spirit shared by the people of the two countries: “Though different mountains, rivers and land, under the same sky we stand.”

The theme of this Oumei Fine Arts 2020(Tokyo)(OFA2020) is “Towards Tokyo 2020,” its implication is that it accurately interprets human’s strong will and optimism to overcome the COVID-19 epidemic and comprehensively demonstrates the awareness of building a shared future for mankind by exhibiting works by artists around the world.

This OFA2020 exhibition specially invited the most outstanding artists in the fields of Chinese painting, oil painting, print and sculpture. Among them, the Chinese artists include Huang Yongyu, Sun Qifeng, Yu Jigao, Yu Zhixue, Liu Boshu, Pan Gongkai, Fan Di’an, Feng Yuan, Qian Shaowu, Cui Zhenkuan, Li Baolin, Chen Jialing, Jia Haoyi, Xie Zhigao, Zhao Huasheng, Guo Yicong, Du Ziling, Yang Lizhou, Cao Xinlin, Yan Zhenduo, Guo Beiping, Wang Yingchun, Long Rui, Wen Lipeng, Xu Kuang, A Ge, Sheng Yang, Xu Qinsong, He Jiaying, Zhao Wei, Yang Xiaoyang, Zhou Jingxin, Zhang Jiangzhou, Lu Yushun, Wu Weishan, Yu Xiaofu, Yang Feiyun, Yan Ping, Pang Maokun, Su Xinping, etc. All the works in the exhibition have their own unique potentials and styles, representing the highest level of contemporary fines arts creation in China.

The OFA2020 has undergone over ten years of development and has attracted a large number of artists of the highest calibre at home and abroad. Its perspective of creation shows the most diverse inclination. Therefore, The OFA 2020 becomes an international exhibition brand which exerts positive and profound influence in the domestic and international arenas.

The exhibition will be shown to the whole world through the official website of CSPCAD under the OFA session. The works in the exhibition will also be collected and published.

This exhibition is strongly supported by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Japan, Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Japan-China Friendship Association, Japan Erhu Promotion Association. It is organized and implemented by the Organising Committee of the 2020 (Tokyo) Oumei Fine Arts. All the works are judged by the “Art Committee of the 2020 (Tokyo) Oumei Fine Arts” consisting of famous artists and critics in China and overseas, so as to maintain the high quality and artistry of the works. 

The nobleness of art lies in the light of hope that it glitters when humans are in difficult situations! What this OFA2020 brings is exactly warmth and hope for all peoples around the world who are battling against the COVID-19 epidemic!

东京奥运会的顺利举办，充分表现出奥林匹克精神巨大的感召力，同时也体现出全世界人民团结抗疫所取得的伟大成就。在此期间举办的“2020（东京）奥美大会——面向2020东京”展览在各方的支持下，成为具有特殊意义的展览。通过此次展览，让人们更加了解奥林匹克精神和艺术的神圣使命，也更加了解中国在人类至暗时刻所发挥的重大作用。

2020年，中国如期完成了脱贫攻坚的任务，中国社会走向全面小康。在经济繁荣发展的同时，文化艺术也蓬勃进取。艺术创作所呈现出的丰富多元的局面，正是国家富强、人民富裕、社会发展的生动写照。本届奥林匹克美术大会以大约160件作品的规模，全面呈现了当今中国和世界发展的景象。在奥林匹克精神的指引下，体育交流、艺术交流已成为世界各国人民合作的重要途径。

艺术交流也是情感和精神的交流。奥美大会自组织实施以来，正日益成为各国艺术家交流、融合的平台。通过这个平台，一个跨文化、跨国界、跨民族的新艺术时代即将来临。

The smooth running of the Tokyo Olympic Games fully illustrates the great inspiration of the Olympic spirit, and shows the significant achievement of the joint efforts against the epidemic by all peoples around the world. The “Oumei Fine Arts 2020(Tokyo)(OFA2020)· Towards Tokyo 2020” Exhibition becomes an exhibition of special importance with the support of all parties. Through this exhibition, people will have a better understanding of the Olympic spirit, the sacred mission of art, and the important role that China plays in the darkest hour of mankind.

In 2020, China has completed its mission to alleviate poverty as scheduled, and the Chinese society develops towards comprehensive and moderate prosperity. Culture and art thrive as the economy flourishes and develops. The rich and diverse artistic creations are the vivid expression of the prosperity of the nation, the affluence of the people, and social development. This OFA2020 comprehensively presents the contemporary development landscape of China and the world with about 160 works. Guided by the Olympic spirit, exchanges in sports and the arts have become the important venue for the cooperation of all peoples around the world.

Artistic exchanges are also the communication of emotions and spirits. Ever since its organization and implementation, the Olympic Fine Arts is increasingly becoming a platform of communication and integration for artists around the world. Through this platform, we are ascending into a new artistic era which is cross-cultural, cross-border, and cross-national.

The call for entries of this OFA2020 is supported by artists around the world, particularly Chinese artists. The works that they meticulously created are the perfect interpretation of the Olympic spirit and the awareness of the shared future of mankind. We hereby express our deepest gratitude!
